Hello, August! Can summer keep its good soul on its feet and stay a while?
A few friends asked for a BTS on my weekly grocery store trips. Let's just say the above is a semi-accurate account of what I purchase regularly at the local MOMs. That is if I stay on the perimeters and eschew the junk food jungle.
Otherwise, the impulse buys and cravings somehow will jump into my cart. Yes, I'm talking to you Ben & Jerry's ice cream and/or Sriracha Kettle Brand chips. Even I have a few vices.
But, when I stay committed, here are my staples:
- Green Onions
- Red Onion
- Roma Tomatoes
- Dried Lentils
- Dried Chickpeas
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO)
- Unsalted Tomato Sauce
- Couscous (not pictured)
- Nori Seaweed Paper (not pictured)
- Short grain sushi rice (not pictured)
With all of the above, I can make nutritious and delicious meals to power me through the week! Stay tuned to see what quirky crumbles I'll be creating with the seasonal selections.
