Happy Cinco de Mayo! Contrary to popular belief, today is not Mexico’s Independence Day. That’s actually on September 16. So, what is Cinco de Mayo? Let’s go back in time for a sec. In short, it’s the celebration of the Mexican army’s victory at the Battle of Puebla. In that battle, Mexico overthrew a surging force—the French— from their country. And that’s, a reason to celebrate!
Now on to the recipe....GUACAMOLE!
You see, I haven’t always been hip to guacamole. It’s a texture thing, and frankly, not all guacamole is created equal. It also doesn’t help that I’m a persnickety eater.
But, with some heavy coaxing, I’ll try any food once. So, when my friend Alanna raved about her guacamole recipe (she said it just might make me like guacamole), I knew it was something I should try. She made it for a holiday party, and, I tried it once—and then a few more times.
Because three is the magic number in my world. My taste buds were bursting with good vibes and convinced me I had become a guac-believer! That’s why I call this recipe Alanna's Holy Moly Guacamole! This, I promise you, just might change your life.
If you make it, I would love to see! Share it on social media with #quirkycrumble.
